Introduction

New aspects for PRINCE2® 7 include:

  • Integration of People: People are central to successful projects and now they are integrated into the PRINCE2 method.
  • Project performance: Sustainability has been added as a seventh aspect of project performance to reflect modern organisational needs.
  • Digital and data: To meet the evolving needs of project management professionals the addition of a digital and data management approach.

Improved aspects of PRINCE2® 7 include:

  • Improved flexibility: Rules have been reduced and chapters streamlined while maintaining core elements of PRINCE2.
  • PRINCE2 for all: Simplifications in language and content throughout the official book to widen the addressable market.
  • Fully tailorable enabling agility: Tailoring is addressed throughout the whole method demonstrated using scenarios. Allowing PMs to move quickly and easily in response to change or challenge.
  • Evolving to changes in the PM space: Meeting new needs and requirements for ever changing profession.

The PRINCE2 7 certification scheme has two main levels, Foundation and Practitioner. 

FOUNDATION

Description of the course:

PRINCE2® 7 Foundation course aims to ensure that a candidate could act as an informed member and contributor of a project management team using the PRINCE2 method, within an environment supporting PRINCE2. To this end they need to show they understand the principles and terminology of the method

Objectives

  • Understand how the PRINCE2 principles underpin the PRINCE2 method
  • Understand the PRINCE2 themes and how they are applied throughout the project
  • Understand the PRINCE2 processes and how they are carried out throughout the project
  • Pass the PRINCE2 7 Foundation exam

Course Format & exam pass marks

  • 1 hour
  • 60 questions
  • Multiple choice questions
  • 60% pass mark (36 marks out of the 60 available)
  • Closed book
  • Prerequisites: It is desirable but not essential that participants have some experience of working on projects.

Course length:

3 days training, exam taken on the last day (preparation and sitting the exam). The course can be also delivered in virtual mode, respecting the standard course length.

During the Course, there will be Exercises and homework assigned to be completed prior to the exam.

PRACTITIONER

Description of the course:

PRINCE2 7 Practitioner certification is for anyone who is managing projects as part of their role. This could be as part of a formal project management function or a role in which project management is an inherent part of day to day work. The purpose of the Practitioner certification is to confirm whether you have sufficient understanding of how to apply and tailor the method in a range of different project environments and scenarios.

Objectives

  • Apply the PRINCE2 principles in context
  • Apply and tailor relevant aspects of PRINCE2 themes in context
  • Apply (and tailor) relevant aspects of PRINCE2 processes in context
  • Pass the PRINCE2 Practitioner exam

Course Format & exam pass marks

  • 2.5 hour
  • Objective Test Questions
  • 70 questions
  • 60% pass mark (42 marks out of the 70 available)
  • Open book (Candidates are permitted to use the official printed hard copy of the PRINCE2® 7 Managing Successful Projects)
  • Prerequisites: Project Management experience and experience working in project teams.

The Prince2 7 course can be divided in two sessions: 3 days Prince2 7 Foundation and 2 days Prince 2 7 Practitioner course.
