Description of the course:
This module provides individuals with the practical skills necessary to create a ‘learning and improving’ IT organization, with a strong and effective strategic direction. The module covers the influence and impact of Agile and Lean ways of working, and how they can be leveraged to an organization’s advantage. It will provide practitioners with a practical and strategic method for planning and delivering continual improvement with necessary agility.
Objectives
- Understand the Key Concepts of Direct, Plan & Improve
- Understand the scope of what is to be directed and/or planned, and know how to use key principles and methods of direction and planning in that context
- Understand the role of GRC and know how to integrate the principles and methods into the service value system
- Understand and know how to use the key principles and methods of continual improvement for all types of improvements
- Understand and know how to use the key principles and methods of Communication and Organizational Change Management to direction, planning and improvement
- Understand and know how to use the key principles and methods of measurement and reporting in direction, planning and improvement
- Understand and know how to direct, plan and improve value streams and practices
Course Format & exam pass marks
- Number of questions: 40
- Type of questions: multiple choice
- Marks: 40 marks available
- Provisional pass mark: 65% or higher (26 marks or above)
- Duration: 90 minutes (113 for non-native speakers)
- This is a ‘closed book’ examination
- Prerequisites: The candidate must have passed the ITIL 4 Foundation examination. In addition, the candidate must have attended an accredited training course for this module.

- Individuals continuing their journey in service management
- ITSM managers and aspiring ITSM managers
- managers of all levels involved in shaping direction and strategy or developing a continually improving team
- existing ITIL qualification holders wishing to develop their knowledge.
Course length:
3 days training, exam taken on the last day (preparation and sitting the exam). The course can be also delivered in virtual mode, respecting the standard course length.

During the Course, there will be Exercises and homework assigned to be completed prior to the exam.
